Past, Present, and Reimagined

Located in Denver’s historic Five Points neighborhood, the Rossonian Hotel has been a symbol of culture and resilience for more than a century. Known as the “Harlem of the West” during its heyday in the 1920s and 1930s, Five Points was a renowned cultural hub that hosted legendary jazz musicians like Duke Ellington, Billie Holiday, and Nat King Cole. Built in 1912 and renamed in 1929, the Rossonian became a cornerstone of Denver’s African American social scene, offering a haven for Black performers and travelers during the era of segregation, while serving as a vibrant gathering place for the community.

Today, the Rossonian is undergoing a renovation that will create a thriving hotel and restaurant that celebrates its deep cultural roots while offering modern luxury. The hotel will include 130 elegantly designed hotel rooms across two connected buildings with a ground-floor restaurant and live music lounge, as well as flexible event spaces. The Rossonian will honor its architectural legacy by preserving the original 1912 brick exterior and iconic triangular facade, seamlessly blending historic charm with contemporary design.

The Rossonian redevelopment is a testament to the power of collaboration. This creative and ambitious effort – led by Palisade Partners, Rossonian Development Authority, Craine Architecture, Semple Brown, Milender White, CoralTree Hospitality, along with community advocates and passionate investors – is a catalyst for cultural and economic revitalization in the Five Points neighborhood in Denver. Scheduled to open in 2028, the Rossonian promises to be a gathering place for connection, culture, and celebration, lighting the path toward a vibrant future for the neighborhood.
